3. Protein discovery validates chronic fatigue syndrome theory
The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) collaborated with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) to discover around 3,000 proteins in the spinal fluids of people who suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome and Lyme disease. “We discovered that both diseases — chronic fatigue syndrome and post-treatment neurological Lyme disease — are central nervous system disorders,” said Steven Schutzer, professor of medicine at UMDNJ. “They have their own characteristic set of spinal fluid proteins that lets us distinguish one from the other.”

5. Craig confident chronic fatigue is behind him
That is what life was like for Otago all-rounder Mark Craig. Two years ago the aggressive right-arm offspinner and useful left-handed batsman had forced his way into the Otago twenty/20 side and played six matches. The 23-year-old had been picked in the team to play Canterbury in the final at the University Oval, but the match was washed out. It is unlikely Craig would have been able to take the field. He had been feeling unwell and listless for some time, but that day he just felt “completely wiped out”.

Great articles. I am especially interested in learning more about enhanced external counter pulsation (EECP) therapy. Do you know if it is available in Canada? I wonder if recovery would be as remarkable for someone who has had CFS for a lot of years. I also wonder if his age helped his recovery. Anyways, definitely interesting and encouraging!

Still waiting to hear from Vasomedical if this is available or approved in Canada. However, it is actually fairly available in the USA. I would imagine that age always helps with recovery, but blood flow is the building block of any recovery system in your body and that is what EECP helps with.
